USE OUTCOMES TO IMPROVE OUTCOMES.
In a perfect world, doctors would scientifically establish a baseline before all treatments, and continue to track the treatment outcome from that day forward. They would use this data to drive future treatment decisions on what is objectively proven to work best in their hands, and would have instant access to data on all other treatment results for phenotypically similar patients with similar treatments throughout the world. This would add up to a system that maximizes results, and minimizes negative effects of treatments. That future is now.
Doctors should be able to generate business based on actual results, not reviews. Doctors finally have a way to showcase their good results to existing and prospective patients, making conversations much easier and more believable, and making them less dependent on subjective online reviews. Patients can finally trust that their doctors are really good at their specific trades. This beautiful dynamic enhances both the doctors’ and the patients’ experience, and helps shift doctors’ business models from patient catering, to patient care.
Is it a lofty goal? Sure. But it’s not necessarily too lofty. We’re hoping that ultimately, the (totally anonymous) patient-reported data gathered by thousands of OutcomeMD clients can be used by researchers and correlation algorithms to identify, reproduce and create cures.
